Why have a boiler service?
Having an annual service on your boiler is highly recommended to keep everything running smoothly throughout the year. An annual service will reduce the risk of a breakdown, help prolong the life of your boiler and keep any manufacturer warranty intact. A faulty boiler could waste you money on energy and could even be dangerous if it started spilling poisonous carbon monoxide. What's included in a boiler service?
During a boiler service our engineer will perform:
- A full inspection of your boiler, burner, combustion chamber, injectors and heat exchanger, inspection of ignition devices and clean of parts as required
- Checking of all seals and gaskets for corrosion and leaks
- Ensure that any traps and drains are free from dirt and waste
- Test your appliance to ensure heat and operating pressures are correct, a flue test to check that there are no unsafe emissions from your boiler and that ventilation is to current standards and that the boiler is safe for continuing operation
- A functional testing of heating and hot water
- Written notes of any gas safety defect which may affect the operation of your appliance.
What happens after the service?
At the end of the visit, our boiler specialist will leave you with a checklist which includes all the relevant safety information for your boiler. They will also offer practical advice regarding energy efficiency.
